Technical specification
The PINA Magnetic Fixing Device is an auxiliary accessory that helps position and stabilise a pilot ladder against a steel or other ferromagnetic ship side, reducing ladder movement from minor environmental effects and assisting alignment during use.
Regulatory status — read before ordering. PINA is an auxiliary positioning and stabilising accessory. It is not a mandatory requirement of the Marine Equipment Directive, Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1533, SOLAS V/23, IMO Resolution A.1045(27), IMO Resolution MSC.576(110), IMO MSC.1/Circ.1428 or ISO 799-1:2019. It is not a primary securing arrangement, not a load-bearing component and not a life-saving appliance, and it does not replace the approved securing points of the pilot ladder. It must only be used together with the approved securing arrangement.
